Dust in flight

I'd not felt like drawing the new horse Dusty cos we'd been having some serious problems of the "I don't want to be ridden and you can't make me" nature - but a change of bridle, some strong riding, a lot of how-the-hell-did-I-not-fall-off-that moments and far more perseverance than the rotten old brat deserved, and we're back on good terms again. And that means pictures

This is inspired by yesterday's ride, when he surprised me and silenced his critics with some of the best jumping he's done since I got him six months ago! Real enthusiastic leaping, not just trying to trotting-pole them and get away with stepping over the lowest bit, these were the kind of jumps which nearly catapulted me upwards out of the saddle, and he only bucked once

He's in his winter coat here, so he's a bit feathery and fuzzy round the edges, lacking his summer dapples, and gone substantially darker so now he's almost dark chocolate coloured with a ginger nose.
