Passion, in black and white pencil

It had been far, far too long since I drew these two sharing a kiss Very pleased with how it turned out, mouths are awfully hard to arrange into convincing kisses but I think this time it really works, they look like they're getting into this scene rather well

They're each in their working clothes, reunited after a day spent a couple of miles apart in their very different jobs - seems they've been looking forward to this moment all day long!
We don't see Laurence's work outfits very often, he wears a plain white shirt with a rounded collar, a black or dark grey waistcoat and matching trousers, and expanding metal armbands which pull his sleeves up just enough that they don't touch his work and get stained with ink. He could just turn his cuffs back, but the boss gave him a pair of these on his first day and as a nervous wide-eyed new boy, he didn't dare do anything but put them on! Ambrose has his usual clothes, and smells like horses and molasses and boot blacking and perspiration and also lavender

I like this sort of sketchy drawing as much as I like inklined and precisely coloured, now - it's taken quite a lot of experimentation to settle on various techniques which suit my style, and a while to be really happy with leaving things rougher, but I'm enjoying the variety of it a lot now, being able to create very different pics depending on the feel or my mood or some idea I get out of the blue and can't picture in anything but a certain art style. It's quite freeing to not automatically reach for the ink and airbrush every time : I've trained myself to just try making a scribbly mess sometimes XD
