Stretch!

I drew this one a couple of months ago but wanted to save it til the season matched the scenery - now it's just about reaching the greyer end of autumn, it's time! Hang on, Amyas, sit back and get those heels down  
Inspired by seeing horses taking wide cross-country jumps and how brilliantly they use themselves to stretch out and reach the far side, but to set it back into the right era for my characters, I switched specially contructed jumps for the sort of obstacle Amyas and Horatio might encounter out hunting and need a nice long leap to clear safely. It was either this or a water jump, and that seemed much harder to draw so they've just got a dry ditch full of brambly dead stuff I'll try water another time (and I'm awfully tempted to do two pictures, so one pair can be jumping well but I can also have someone fail to clear it and get a ducking head to toe, now who ought I inflict that on?)
Made the hedge brush specially for the background of this, sat there drawing about twenty different cut-topped hawthorn bushes to compile into an animated GIMP brush, so I can draw rows of hedging without having to pencil every one seperately ever again!
